MASTER CLASSES
From the start of the Við Djúpið music festival, having high-quality masterclasses has been an important aspect of the educational and performance offerings. Many talented musicians and teachers have taught here over the years.
REGISTRATION
The course fees are reasonable, and it's possible to apply for accommodation.
Registration for the courses is done by sending an inquiry to greipur@viddjupid.is.
The general fee is 40,000 ISK. This includes teaching for a four-day course, a pass to the Við Djúpið music festival, and a special schedule for students.
CHAMBER MUSIC
Special emphasis is placed on chamber music courses at the 2024 festival for string players, wind instrumentalists, and pianists in small groups. Festival instructors, including members of the chamber ensemble Orchester im Treppenhaus from Germany, will play with students in chamber groups along with assistant teachers.
Additionally, private lessons will be available, and participants can take part in instrument masterclasses with festival instructors.
Registration is open for groups and individuals, where everyone will be placed in ensemble groups.

VOCAL
Herdís Anna Jónasdóttir
The sought-after singer ,Herdís Anna Jónasdóttir, leads a masterclass in singing at the festival. The teaching takes place over four days from June 18th to 21st. Each student receives about 25 minutes per day, and the instruction is conducted in group sessions. The course concludes with students having the opportunity to perform at a concert on the afternoon of June 21st.
Assisting Herdís will be the pianist Alexander Vorontsov.
VIOLIN
Moritz Ter-Nedden
The German violinist and instructor Moritz Ter-Nedden teaches at the festival's chamber music course, and also offers violin lessons to violin students.
FLUTE
Christine Köhler
The German flutist Christine Köhler teaches flute students in masterclass group classes at the 2024 festival.
CELLO
Sæunn Thorsteinsdóttir
The Icelandic cellist and instructor Sæunn Thorsteinsdóttir offers private lessons to cello students at the 2024 festival.
